It Came, It Blew, It Went Away...All Clear, All is Shipshape

Well, after all the hype and preparation, the typhoon blew onshore last night. It looks like it passed pretty much right over the house, and was pretty wet and windy. I went to bed around 10:30 PM or so, and was awakened around midnight by rain blowing on the house in sheets. Looking out the window, the trees nextdoor were waving wildly. The radio said that Yokosuka was at a Typhoon Condition 1-Caution (highest level with the added restrictions on going outside). Basically, the police would pick you up if they caught you outside.

By the time I woke up, though, it had blown on through, and you could actually see Mt. Fuji from the window. No damage or even trees down or power loss her in our neighborhood, so that's great. Zama still is on a noon work call, so I'll go in in an hour or so. Yokosuka is all clear at this time, so I'm hopeful that Melody will be on her way home soon. She has a limited number of weekends that she doesn't have duty, and we don't want to miss this one.

We'll keep you posted...
