April 10, 2005HONG KONG: FEB 05
I'm playing catch up with my port call entries, starting with Hong Kong. It's already been 6 weeks since we were in Hong Kong, which means it's been 6 weeks since I last saw David. I'll see him again this coming weekend, when he finally joins me in Japan (his year in Riyadh is ending). David met me onboard the ship on our first day in port. It was a bit rough and choppy in HK harborView image, especially on the ferry trips back and forth. We finally left the ship and we went to our hotel, the Renaissance, which was nearby the Fleet pier. After a quick shower (boy, I couldn't wait to take a NORMAL shower), we hurried to meet Nicole and Lok at Staunton's, a bar near the mid-level escalators. We hung out for a little while, and after some wine (Nic & I) and beer (the boys), we headed up the escalators to an awesome Italian restaurant called View image">Panevino's. We had a great time with them. We stayed out a bit later than expected, especially since the next morning we were supposed to go to the Fleet Pier to meet the tour bus at 6:45AM for our day trip to Guangzhou, China. That'll be the next entry... Comments
