Some pictures

IMG_0080.jpg

Well, I've been here just about a month, and it's starting to feel like home. You know how it is when you move...it takes a little while for the new place to feel like it's someplace you belong, and aren't just visiting. I'm still feeling a bit like a tourist, and do take time when I can to just wander around. Mel has had duty the past few weekends, which has left me alone. So, rather than stay around the house, I've gotten out to learn the 'hood.

In the course of it, I've of course, taken a lot of pictures. I recently upgraded to a Canon 20D Digital SLR, and let me tell you...it is awesome. Flat out the nicest camera I've ever had (or will likely ever have). Solid construction, fast startup, focusing and shooting...it even takes the lenses I've already got for my non-digital Canon. I'll do my best to post pictures here as I take them...After being in Saudi Arabia for a year, coming back to the "real" Army is an adjustment...folks just don't knock off at 2 PM and go home! What's THAT all about?

Any way, here are a few pictures from the past month...mainly from around the neighborhood, the beach, and a few of the Buddhist temples that I've checked out around here.

I wish I could have been there to share the sunsets and the views... but alas, duty calls. That's okay though because by the end of 2005, I'll be done going out to sea on the Kitty City! I won't be done with the duty weekends however until April 2006...bah!
