November 28, 2003Arrived in Thailand
I have arrived, FINALLY. I am a happy camper these days. After a tiring last few days in India, the people at Air India must have known because for some unknown reason, they upgraded me to first class!!! Duh, I know, they probably overbooked, but who cares!!! When I got that "executive" class ticket I nearly had a heart attack from delight. I sat there sipping on french red wine (getting pretty drunk too), reading Harper's Bazaar (white is THE color in knits this season and the 40s look is uber-trendy) and Newsweek. Newsweek had a feature on the new Lord of the Rings film, Return of the King and I was encouraged that it wasn't going to get screwed up, especially after that whole Matrix trilogy debacle. Anyway, I crashed at Mel McConaghy's (super cool chickie who I met last summer in China) place last night even though she wasn't there, but Ant had the geyser on for me and the hot water and water pressure were heavenly. Mel comes back on Sunday from a weekend at the beach and I can't wait to see her. Today Ant and I are chillin' with GreyCat/Colin from Bootsnall, so we should have a great day. Comments
Glad to hear you made it to your next destination.. and in style too! Nice to hear that I can look forward to Lord of the Rings. Has Ant ever been to Thailand? If not, I am sure he would love that backpacker heaven that we visted each day to eat...ya know.. that street with all the bars, stores, and restaurants? I hate the basement more now than my last e-mail to you. I have been a slave all weekend to it. I can't wait for it to be finished!!!! Posted by: Stephanie on November 29, 2003 08:13 PMSteph, Sorry to hear about the basement taking over your life. What the heck are you doing down there that is so time consuming? We visited Khao San Rd yesterday with a friend, Colin. I resisted buying ANYTHING, though I did get some ideas for things to send home with Vanessa for Xmas presents for the for the fam.
