It is well known in the East that babies develop into more healthy children if body contact is maintained for the first year of life - in part they can hear the heartbeat which is so familiar to them, and also they achieve a level of safety and warmth from their mother which is such a familiar environment to them. With all our hi-tech advances we have lost these simple patterns in our childcare. Who is the more disadvantaged I wonder? N

What a sweet sleeping baby. Oh, you know without that intense of a bonding we're all so disadvantaged in that respect.
