October 25, 2004The Jokhang
This morning I went to the Jokhang entirely intending upon going to class and then realizing it was way too big and busy to do in 45 min so I skipped class. I was sick and what's more important, seeing the oldest thing in Lhasa and most revered statue in Tibet for possibly the only time, or going to incredibly frustrating and boring 2 hrs of language class. So I got a lot of little stuff taken care of today. Lunch I had really quick with Emma at Tashi restaurant. This afternoon we had our tour of the Potala. The whole tour was the wrong way because the chinese screwed it up. Anyway the view of Lhasa was spectacular - and the feeling inside was humbling - more impressive than the palacio real in madrid.
