India snaps

My last night in India, Gari's flight was very early the next day so we decided to stay up until dawn. We sat on the rooftop bar of our guesthouse all through the dry warm night, at 4.30am Gari left for the airport, and a while later the sun lit up the sky.

It was the last day of my RTW trip, of more than fourteen months travelling. Trying to hold it all in my head at once isn't yet possible for me. I tried to think about how all the things I've experienced had come to an end here on this Delhi rooftop, tried to ponder and consider, but found I couldn't. I just had to accept that this, almost coincidentally, was the end, that equally it was simply one more morning, one more golden morning of incredible promise. After all, I was flying to England that day.

The flight had no problems. Here is a sneak view of north west Iran:

My dad met me at Heathrow airport and took me home.

PS As the title of this piece suggests, I've just finished posting up my photos of India. The ones of Darjeeling and Varanasi I particularly like - start at "No Escaping" and work your way forwards. I'll be posting in a couple of days about my lovely and disorientating return to London.

Wishing you the best,

Daniel

Looking forward to hearing about how you feel being back home after traveling for nearly that past 14 months.

Enjoy your time home.

Hola Daniel; good luck at home; When I first started reading this blog I still had my doubts about going backpacking before university, but now I already decided, I'm gonna do it Your posts have been really helpful.
Whether you blog again or not, keep writing, it seems like you like it a lot.

Hey Dan - as a couple of others have said: don't think of this as the end, just a temporary rest from your travels.

The warm sunshine (and scary insects) of Australia beckon ...

Cheers,

D.
