Photos, photos, photos!

Hello everyone, I've now finally scanned in quite a lot of photos to the different pages of my blog. Have a read through, there are pictures of snowy forests, mountains, horses, a nasty tibetan dog, a big buddha and me in a too small chef's hat. There are some really good ones on the Gypsy Porn Star Nazis and Feeling Laosy entries, but have a look through from the start and click on the blue hyperlinks in the text.

Best wishes, Daniel

Ah...I see, you have to click on all the entries to find them. I was a bit confused. I love your pictures. Some of them have really taken my breath away.

Since I am in the buiznez of art publishing and photoresearch, I will ask, were they all taken on a digital camera? do you have higher res pictures avaliable? Cause we are doing a world lit book, I wonder if any of your pictures could ever be used. Probably not, but maybe. Do you have them all in one place?

Anyway, hope you are well. if you haven't eaten dog yet, don't.

Great to see you added some pictures to your wonderful travelogue. I continue to check in once a week or so to see how you are making out.
Take care of yourself,
Sarah

Hi Suzy, very pleased you liked them!

I've been using an Kodak APS camera that my work colleagues gave me as a going away present. I used 200 speed film for the most recent photos - but beyond that my knowledge of photography starts to get quite limited.

I scanned the photos on to a CD, and then uploaded them to the site. I actually also have a CD of much higher resolution - the first place I went to decided I needed only the best, and made all the files four mbs or bigger, so was utterly useless for transferring to my blog... However, I should be able to email those, if that would be useful.

PS As this is the first time I've posted photos myself (for the first six months of my diary my editor Chris did all the work), if you (or anyone reading) have any suggestions for how I can present the photos better, or organise them for people to find, that would be very helpful/appreciated...

Hi Daniel,

I've been away in a business trip and couldn't wait to get back home to travel with ya. As I was reading some of your past entries I was wondering about photos, and voila, here they are. I know this may be a bit of a whimsical request, but 'it doesn't hurt to ask'..I'd love to see more photos of the people you meet because it seems like they are truly the one thing that makes your trips memorable.

And, pray tell, I'm curious if at this point in your trip you see how and when it will end? I started reading your story when you first began it back when you were discovering the US, and I realize how many months it has been. Not much has changed in my life besides the same ol' routine!..*sighs* one day..that's what we all say :)...no, seriously, before the end of this year, I'll be off to someplace!...

Your pics are indeed wonderful Daniel! Hadn't thought it mattered too much since I'm able "see" most of what you see through your writing, but the pics were indeed wonderful ... :) ...

Hope your spirits have picked up ... We'd all send you cookies (or bread sticks :) if we knew where to send them! ... lol.

You may not wish to spend the money on a cheap digital camera, and the pics might not be the quality you want, but for web purposes, it would make your life much much simpler ... You did an outstanding job getting your photos posted though ... thanks!

Hey Daniel! You posted on my rtw site so now I'm here checking out yours! Sounds like you are having a fantastic trip! Too bad I didn't know you when you were in Detroit! I live about 1/2 hour outside of Detroit. Happy Travels! -Michelle

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Suzy: Sorry to say, but I've just eaten dog hot pot earlier this night. Quite tasty.

Rogerio: Where this is ending, I don't know. I have a vague plan to travel in Asia throughout 2004, then go to Japan in early 2005 and teach English for a while... but that's not really an ending. In Central America, it was strange, I felt as though things were coming together and sooner or later a picture of my future would become clear to me. But since arriving in China, that feeling has completely gone - not sure where things are heading at all.
What are you planning for your trip?

Elle: Yeah, I think it's time to go digital. My birthday (26) is coming up on the 25th of this month, so think I will buy myself a digital camera once I am in Thailand... Only issue is, I am utterly ignorant of such things, so if anyone has some advice or sites I should look at, please step forward...

Thanks to everyone who has been reading!

Hey Daniel,

Another BootsnAll user just recently asked me some advice on digital cameras, I'm forwarding my response to you. That may give you some tips as to what to look for. Just happened to stop by to check for updates, but couldn't find any :)..*hint*
