Yes, we're still here...

Just been busy, that's all. I have been involved in getting things all sorted so I can leave next month and head to Japan. Thursday marked my one year anniversary in this Magical Kingdom, and was celebrated with minimal fanfare. It was also St. Patrick's Day, which meant that there were multiple parties around our camp, and a lot of strangers in our restaurant the next day, having slept off their celebrations. I didn't bother going to any, but had supper with some friends. No green beer here in the Kingdom...at least not for me.

Mel is out at sea still, and recently visited Busan, Korea. She had duty right in the middle of the time in port, and so didn't have a chance to take any of the recreation trips that were offered. Some folks went up to the DMZ to tour Panmunjan. Others, including Melody, spent time shopping around the Busan area. In fact, she emailed me and listed out all the stuff she bought...women and shopping! Like peas and carrots, eh?

My friend Paul, a kindred spirit in Korea, sent me a shirt from the Singapore Cricket Club. He and Amy (the Amy from the comments section, btw) spent a few days there a month or so ago, and gave it extremely high marks. Of course, they avoided spitting on the sidewalk, or chewing gum, and thus came back without any caning incidents or fines. Paul, thanks for the shirt! It fits perfectly (apparently, I'm a "Large" in Asian sizes), and I appreciate your thinking of me.
