Segway Tours

Monday, October 4th, 2010

When travelling through Italy in August and September I decided to do a couple of segway tours, one in Rome and one in Florence.

Whilst I spent a week in Rome and had plenty of time to see the main sights, the segway was a fun way to see ancient Rome (and save my legs climbing all those hills).

In contrast to Rome, I was only in Florence for a couple of days and the segway tour was a great way to get in the major sights and then decide what to go back and see on foot.

Each tour ran for about three hours and included a guide. Prices were about EUR75 each. Rome was better value for money simply because there is more to see and riding the segways along footpaths and some roads was simply more fun.

Tip: in summer, book ahead. I used Viator as I wanted to pay in my home country currency of AUD, however you can book direct through Italy Segway Tours.

Would I recommend a segway tour – absolutely!
