I’ll say it again – AT THE VERY BOTTTOM OF THE PAGE TEMPLATE!!. 9 times out of 10, the reason why people have problems with their instant googlemap is because they did not follow this simple rule.

For Geeks: Why the bottom? It’s for Internet Explorer. IE doesn’t deal very well with javascript trying to load stuff into page elements that haven’t been rendered yet. The simplest way to get around this is to put all that javascript right at the end of the document, so by the time IE looks at the javascript, it has rendered the element it’s going to put the map into.
