HI to David in LA –this wont make sense to many others, menos JC
Okay, so i have lots of entries written on Yamini’s computer which i haven’t had time to use, but in the meanwhile:Today at dinner Juan asked me “who’s Cool Khan and Gulabi?” (the nicknames Yamini and i have for some students.
“Pong and the chubby kid in pink, who told you about them?” I asked, and he explained that his friend in LA (Hi!) (who is a fellow Yu) had been reading my blog, and now Juan has, and he rightly pointed out that I left out describing many of his wonderful traits and instead focussed on his pronounciation. Sorry Juan. For example, it was he alone that was honest enough to tell me that everyone could hear our conversation as outlined in “oops” — good point Juan. It is also he who brings much comic relief to situations, for example “Nilima, I’m out of toilet paper and have been using our lecture schedule instead” (oops, I’ll hear about this tomorrow). No really, Juan is hilarious with his equally self-deprecating or gentle fun-at-others humor, be it at his eating habits (“No, Nilima, Coke does not cause cancer, lack of Love does, and I am obviously pure love [sarcasm], please, everyone make a diet, i will help you, just give me your Cokes and Oreos”). When I put up my post on our Cultural Play that we performed for the students I will write about his brilliant ideas for staging the play (but in case I forget, Juan had brilliant ideas for staging the play. Oh, hmm like involving the “boys” oh yeah, in English that’s “children,” integrating media, and using the whole space, not just the stage. He also stayed calm dealing with all the personalities (but I won’t elaborate on these “personalities” lest their friends are also reading) but for a small example, when we were all arguing in front of the kids about whether we should have rehearsal or go to a Chinese New Year celebration Juan took on the Noble task of arguing with a fellow hispanic that we shouldn’t be arguing in front of the kids. Or i could write about how he calls me “Master Nilima” knowing i was uncomfortable with my role as director in our play.Or I could write that he tells me I speak spanish lilke a tourist, and then I pretend to cry at the insult. Oh wait, okay positive things about Juan. Well, he uses Windows Movie maker like a pro and takes great (if obsessive) photos. No really JC, creo que estes muy muy comica y que tengas un buen actitud y mucho devocion. Estabas con un machina durante nuestro projectivo, sin comiendo, ni dormiendo, gracias. Okay, let me know when i can delete this, ha ha. Well this entry, will show you to either to never ask me to write something positive about you, but if you do, i will. hi David, im happy people are reading.
