Skye’s The Limit

Friday, January 5th, 2007

Yesterday was an entire day just on the Isle of Skye. The weather was decent, not perfect but good. Some occasional mist but really there was some sun, and it is Scotland in winter, so will not complain.

Since we were spending another night on Skye in Kyleakin (think I spelled that right), the morning was easy not having to pack and load the bus. So, easy start to the day and we were up to a couple of stops before lunch. Did a little sight seeing before stopping in Portree, the largest place on Skye. Couldn’t tell you WHAT I had, but was something lemon and another strawberry, my two favorite flavors. [read on]

Scotland: Edinburgh And Beyond

Edinburgh to Oban

Yesterday morning was up “bright” and early to make my way to the Haggis Adventures office on High Street. Was so paranoid about oversleeping that I did not sleep well and ended up being first there. It was only by a short time, though, literally less than a minute.

Edinburgh: Multiplicity

Sunday, December 31st, 2006
As beautiful as yesterday was, today was its antithesis, but I'd read as much about today's weather. I had a very late start.  I think I stirred this morning around the appropriate time to wake-up, but I thought better of it.  ... [Continue reading this entry]

Edinburgh or Bust or Both

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

First, if you spot some strange characters, it's going to take me a bit to get used to the UK keys again, so bear with and all that jazz.

With each trip, I seem to be more haphazardly packing at the ... [Continue reading this entry]

And The Winner Is…

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006
Okay, I waffled a million ways from Sunday about going to Egypt around New Years.  But of course, after I thought about it two days, the airfare was up over $300 more than it was when I first looked.  And ... [Continue reading this entry]

As always, work week has been rough and I'm looking forward to some comparable weekend downtime. I recently finished working through all of my pictures of Italy. It's not that I don't have tons more from both local travel and ... [Continue reading this entry]

California, I Hardly Knew Ye

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006
Back in Georgia and playing a little catch-up, here. Saturday night, I finished packing and hit the hay. To no avail, I was dead tired Sunday morning. I had planned to meet Jackie around 9am. Ended up being ... [Continue reading this entry]

Burned Out

Sunday, August 6th, 2006
Saturday saw an early start. My intention was to be amongst the Redwoods for Sunrise. This was possible only because I am three hours outside of my time zone in my favor. Still, I didn't go to ... [Continue reading this entry]

California or Bust

Saturday, August 5th, 2006
As it's almost 11pm and I've plans to get up ridiculously early to meet Aaron and June, this installment will be necessarily short. For those not in the know, I'm out in San Jose for a business meeting on Monday that ... [Continue reading this entry]
