a toe gone TOE UP!
so i wrote a long entry the other day and the whole thing got deleted! ugh! anyway i thought my big toe and i were out of the pits of darkness and despair but the other night’s pre-christmas party got to wild. i kicked a wall or person or tree or something and the nail now is hanging on only through the aid of a bandaid and 2cm of skin. in order to deal with cleaning it i have really had to disasociate myself from my foot. i view my toe as a totally independent femo clay mold of a model toe so that looking at the raw red skin behind the nail while i pour alcohol on it does to make me vomit right now on my feet because it is not real. but unfortunately it is real. ugh it is really gross but behind th ebandage it is out of sigt out of mind because it doesn’t really hurt.
last night our friends ball and oui took us out to christmas eve dinner for a duck feats at one of the resorts. we had roast duck, duck sausage, duck soup, baked apples, red cabbage, potatos and german beer. jess had curry vegetables. this couple is so super nice. they own the coffee bar next to the pier where we have been coming everyday for almost 3 weeks. today they gave us christmas presents, a bracelet for jess and a coconut shell hair accesory for me. so nice. tomorrow we are leaving- we are taking the 8:30 slow boat to laem ngop with our friend wan chuk. for the past 5 days we have been working at monkey island resort and eatig, drinking and sleeping in luxury for free. wan chuk is the friend of the owner. we are all going to bangkok together tomorrow and are staying in the chef’s mansion in some ritzy neighborhood in bangkok. also wan chuk and jao (the chef) are super shoppers so they will be our personal shoppers shuttling us around bangkok to buy what we need. we will also be getting our laos visa in bangkok and then either heading up north with the two of them or going to vientienne, laos on our own. who knoooooooooow. tonight we are taking ball and oui out for dinner. mmmmmmm dinner. i am very sad to leave and i feel i could stay here for a looooooong time if my visa would allow.
