rup and laura
things have got better here now had a wobble the other day was just feeling pissed of and sad cause all my friends had gone but its all better now. i supose im away for 6 months i cant be cheery all the time. i ve met up with rup and laura now so thats really good, even tho you make friends out here its nice to have some of your proper friends around. i was sat in the cafe having my breakfast and saw rup walking down the street, that was quite odd and had to double check if it was actually him. they are staying in the same hostel as me so we spent the first day just wandering around the city and me acting as their personal guide, this was funny as i still keep getting lost in this city even tho it feels like ive been here for ages.
the next day we hired a jeep and headed of on our own to see some of the things around. much to rups excitment this ment lots of offroad driving and mudy tracks. the first cave we tried to go to was sign posted of the road but then once the road turned into tracks the were no more signs and the tracks just getting less and less used. we searched around for about half an hour but then realised it was prob no good. we did get a few odd loooks from the locals in the fields as we were obviously lost and the cave was prob obvious to them as well. never mind all good!
we then went to this waterfall again no sign posts biut we used our girl guide skills (well rup did!!) and listened for it. we found it down this little path and it was amazing it plumeted in to this hole in the ground at such force but then was so still about a metre away.
we didnt really se much for a while but had great fun going up in to the mountains and seeing some beautifull scenery. we then stopped at the national park and walked up to some more waterfalls. me and laura sat by one watching this crazy squireel/hamaster/lizard thingy that was in the tree and seemed to fly or jump betwen the trees and move really quickly. we’re not sure what it was but it was great fun to watch. we still didnt see any monkeys tho which we were hoping to see. on the way home we saw a monkey centre so stopped there to have a look. as we entered we realised all the monkeys were caged and on chains so went to leave the place wasnt actually open any way just this guy cutting the grass. he came up to us to see if we wanted to shake hands with a monkey. we all left quickly at this point, we wanted to see hapy wild monkeys not ones like that.

Hey chuggie, wow, you saw a flying squirrel!! Did it have little flaps between its front and back legs? Sounds wicked. I wanna see one. Wait ’til you see the mudskippers though, they’re well funny – wiggling their arses round all over the place… Bit like you and me dancing to RnB really 😉
Not much happening over my side of the pond… i’m still working me chubby (and cold) arse off, three essays down, about 5 to go! Got to go work in tut pub tonight, I think i’ve managed to perfect my ‘clueless/gormless’ look behind the bar quite well so people feel sorry for me.
Well done on taking the plunge with the dreads, I didn’t have the balls. Send us some pics so weeeee can seeeee!
Love, Jods xxx
If I had it my way we’d of been on every mud track and over any field we passed. Off road driving is fun.
