Sihanoukville: By popular demand…
Photos! From North Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. You can see them all over at my disorganized photo dump of a Flickr page, but for a taster/teaser/Sizzler/sampler, have a look here first. Generally speaking, we’ll work backward in time, starting with Angkor Wat….

A Wonder of the World.

Face at Bayon, Angkor Thom.
Me and my Angkor Wat buddies — Bernadette, Shirley and Zion — beneath the ‘Tomb Raider’ tree.
This building is filled with skulls. (Killing Fields Memorial, Phnom Penh, Cambodia)
I took this photo through my sunglasses. Pretty neat, eh? (Wat Phou, Laos)
My guesthouse on Don Det, south Laos. My room was just to the right. That’s a cow.
…and that’s a water buffalo. Another good shot here.
Have I mentioned that elephants are awesome?
Hello! I’m in a rice field! In Laos!
I’ve encountered so many cute children during my trip that, at a certain point, I made the decision to start taking some photos of them. They love it — mostly they enjoy seeing how they look on the digital camera screen, though in Cambodia they sometimes ask for money afterwards — smart lil divas that they are. But seriously, some of the cutest kids of all-time.

Children at Jungle Temple.
This lil’ guy was relentless with his sales pitch, trying to sell me postcards and bracelets, pulling on my arm. He said, “You take my photo and don’t buy anything. You’re bad man!” But he posed for it so nicely! And laughed when he saw it on the screen! Cheeky monkey.
This was at the lunch place in the middle of Angkor Wat. She tried to sell us this big bug that had these gnarly pinchers for a mouth. She said she could fry it for us, if we wanted to eat it. And for a split second, I even thought about it.

On the road to Vang Vieng, Laos.

…and this one is too. Not quite sure who their intended market for this shirt is, though.
Okee, I’m off to Vietnam. Stay sweet and keep in touch. Much love!
