Welcome to Changsha

I am writing this “Prequel” from notebook entries I kept during my early days in Changsha and from memory. After setting the story, I will begin daily blogs featuring current experiences ( and yes, even after being here for a year and a half, I still see things that continue to amaze me).
At the present time, I am teaching Oral English and Western Culture in the International Exchange and Cooperation Division of a large university here in Changsha and have been here for 18 months now. I am engaged to a lovely young lady from Guangzhou (let’s call her “Missy”) that I met through friends. She is just finishing her Graduate Studies (Finance / Business English and Translation / Linguistics) in Guangzhou We have been together for almost 1 year now and we plan to settle down here after the wedding.
I am from the state of Kansas in the U.S. and taught High School Geography, World and U.S. History, and American Government. More next time. See ya.
