I found some amazing pictures of these Siberian Houses. I thought it would be a fun thing to pass along to all of you. Who has traveled to Siberia? Would you want to? I love thinking about all the off the way places you can go in this world. Tell me the most off-the-wall place you have visited!

We’re loving all the amazing destinations Argentina has to offer travelers. And if now isn’t the time to visit, we don’t know when is. Visit The Iguazu Falls and check out one of nature’s most amazing displays of power and beauty. Claimed as one of the natural wonders of the world, Iguazu sees thousands of travelers each year. With a hotel in the park and a multitude of hostels in the town – you can’t go wrong seeing this amazing and magical place.

Destination: Mar del Plata

February 26th, 2009

High season is coming to end for travelers from Buenos Aires heading to Mar del Plata. i.e. there aren’t quite so many people and you can enjoy the beach without elbows and ankles of other people crowding your view. Located about 400 km from Buenos Aires this is an amazing summer get away. Buses from the city run about every half hour and you have everything from sandy beaches to casinos to clubs to enjoy! I would highly recommend going anytime in the next few weeks, while the weather is still hot, hot, hot.

A tip: Take the road toward the playas del faro and enjoy the more private beaches. It costs about ten pesos a person, but is well worth the seaside view.

Shopping, Ladies?

February 25th, 2009

Interested in a little shopping, Ladies? Who isn’t. Here are the best places to take in shopping while in Buenos Aires.

For boutique shopping, check out Palermo SoHo. There are literally blocks and blocks of shopping boutiques for clothing, shoes and bags. You’ll be hard pressed to find a chain down there and plenty of great stuff to make your gal pals jealous back home.

For mall shopping, I recommend Alto Palermo, Galleria Pacifico or Abasto. And for some street shopping a stroll down Sante Fe from Recoleta to Palermo will give you plenty of window shopping to take in.

Enjoy!

Que, Carnivaaaaal!

February 24th, 2009

Carnival in Rio has just ended. The costumes, dancing, floats, beer and samba sounds are floating away into the distance and today, thousands of people are nursing hangovers, trying to recall important moments and lining up to develop pictures. For those of you who missed out however, never fear. Next Saturday the sambodramo features some of the best Samba schools in the country for a sort of ‘mini Carnival’ which can hardly be called ‘mini’ at all. Also, if you wanted to travel into Rio, the next couple of weeks are going to be very cheap. Flights will go down, accommodations in the city will go down and if you’re a traveler who loves a more tranquilo sort of traveling, nows your chance. Book your flights and hostels now and save!

Movie Time

February 20th, 2009

If you can’t stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen and if you can’t stand the heat in Buenos Aires then get indoors. On a rainy day or on a super hot one, taking in a movie at the city’s many theaters is a great way to go. Check out the village cines in Recoletta and the scores of others littered through out Buenos Aires. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday enjoy cheaper fares!
