They are filming a Christmas movie called Christmas in Wonderland at West Edmonton Mall from Mid-April to the end of May. An open casting call is going out to everyone interested in becoming an extra. The movie is about a family who moves to Edmonton and after visiting the mall, the little girl who believes that Santa actually lives in WEM instead of at the North Pole. They need people to fill the mall of Christmas shoppers.
They are actually lucky because a couple weeks back all the snow melted with the warm weather so I was thinking all their outside shots were ruined with brown muck instead of white snow. This past week though has been good for them. All week it’s been below 0C still and the past couple of nights have snowfall.
Anyone interested in becoming an extra for the movie should show up at WEM in Phase 4, level 1 outside HMV from 10am to 6pm. Your picture will be taken and you can be called at anytime for casting. Only people they are interested in will be called. Accordig to the WEM website, you may begin lining up at 9am.
