Taupo Skydiving

Skydiving with Taupo Tandem Skydiving was pretty cool! I had woken up this morning at 8am cuz I had to check weather conditions. The clouds have made the past few days unavailable for skydiving. Fortnately, I managed to get my dive in today at 1pm! the scariest part of it though was watching the video of someone else’s jump prior to signing up! I managed to stay EXTRA CALM just because of all the other people around me were getting so worked up. I also brought a friend along to take pictures so I am covered from suiting up to landing! I had to do it here cuz it was so cheap!

The tandem jump was really great cuz I got Mikey H, who is ranked 6th in Europe and 12th in the world in aerobatic skydiving(not to mention, he’s cute). He was very nice and all the Jump Masters were joshing and kidding around on the plane up. One guy convinced her gal that the person who suited her harness up did it improperly and was too loose. I turned to my guy and thanked him for not being cruel!
Being on a tandem jump requires you to be strapped in really tightly and really closely to your JM, so much so that I had a little bit difficult time breathing and was practically sitting on his lap.

The number’s on my JM’s hand indicate the time, height and other stats of the jump! coo’.

This morning I went to the Honey Hive Centre to take a look at the bees, try my first honeycomb, and sample a whole lot of honey! YUM! A quick walk around part of the lake’s edge capped the morning off.

FYI, Lake Taupo is Larger than Singapore!

Tomorrow’s agenda: Hike the Tongariro Crossing and see LOTR’s Mt. Doom!
