On Halloween, I went over to Mattie’s house to carve pumpkins for his last day in Canada. I don’t remember ever doing it before, not even in school so I was pretty excited about it. Since it was the night before Halloween, I had to go to about 4-5 stores before finding any pumpkins. I bought $2.00 pumpkins from Save-On-Foods (Huge!) and Superstore (small ghost pumpkins left) and the most expensive ones were from Safeway ($3.00). We ended up with about 9 pumpkins and managed to get them all carved, lit, and displayed all before the kids started coming around and we started around 5pm!
Guess which one is my first attempt…. The other is Mattie’s first attempt.
The next night was my Post-Halloween Costume Party.
Can you guess which movie we’re from? They are all home made costumes. I bought all my clothes from Value Village and spray painted them with $5.00 green paint! Winnie created her costume from things around her house and even cut out Sid’s (aka Dave) Skull and Buzz Lightyear (aka Carol) spent all day Saturday assembling hers.
We went bowling at Callingwood lanes and afterwards went to Safeway for Ice Cream! It was great getting all the looks although we weren’t the only ones dressed up at bowling. We were just the most elaborate. There was an Angels/Devils party with either horns or halos on their heads.
I made orange honey glazed ham with spaghetti squash and frites for dinner. I think it was a hit. David kept going back to the kitchen to cut another slice off so it must be tasty.
