train, train, ooo’s, ahh’s, walking, malls, buffet, malls, malls,
malls, malls, Toyota’s pallette town, cars, ooh’s ahh’s, malls, home.
Did I mention all the malls in the area?
really cool architechture of buildings and bridges.
didn’t get to ride the sea busses
cars are neat
buffet was 1200Y and the food was great (way better than buffet
royale), but I hadn’t been eating _that_ much lately so I was really
full a plate of food and a plate of curry with rice. I tried eating
some of the fruit cocktail after to get rid of the full feeling but it
kinda worked reverse and made me super extra blehhh full for a few
hours.
k now things I was planning to write about in previous emails, but forgot:
In general, all the drinks are tiny. macdonalds is tiny just in
comparison to the crazy N.american sizes, but the water glasses at
restaurants are just flat out tiny.
…
the 100 yen and 99yen stores here are pretty good, we do most of our
shopping there. We buy a lot of 2L bottles of water at there, and a
lot of our cleaning supplies (because of our nasty apartment) there.
We found a dorm that was nearly brand newly built, and we were able to
“bargain” (read: ask) the price down to only about 4000Y more per
person than we are paying now. When I walked in I just loved it
compared to the first impression of this place. We really should have
spoken up… ( and the manager is a shady jerk, but we’re here until
june 12 or something.. we’re trying to swing a deal to get out early).
It’s very clean and larger and its a much more central location too,
so no more insane train prices and ride times (than here, ichikawa.)
