Yesterday, I wanted to make my own bone carving but the studio isn’t open on the weekend. So I went to the weekend market in town and found a 10.00 bone carving I liked and bought it! It was a pretty chill night but we(Obrie, and Xavier, a Frenchman) went out for a couple of drinks before heading off for an early night because we had to get up to catch the bus this morning to go to Franz Josef. I will be doing a full day glacier hike tomorrow with Xavier and a couple of others from the bus!
Had a whole schwack load of people check into our quiet little hostel including half a dozen Kiwi Air force dudes. They obviously didn’t know how to behave because they were making rediculous noise, drinking from 11am in the morning and when the owners tried to get them to quiet it down at about 6pm they set off fireworks and basically got themselves kicked out of the hostel.
Kiwi experience also dropped people off at our hostel which is very strange, usually the buses don’t like to share accomm with the other bus companies. This added to the chaos since Kiwi is known to be a party bus and all the people off the bus were boys.
This is when I realised the difference between Magic and Kiwi experience and I am glad I chose Magic! I had also heard they make stops at towns with nothing to do but party!
The bus today had a person from Magic head office taking pictures of us to update the website pictures and stuff. I bet you will see my face on the website in the next year! There was one stop where a bunch of gals got off the bus to take a look at a waterfall and she asked us to pose for a picture. There is Xavier surrounded on all sides by 10 or so girls! hahahah
