Musee D’Orsay = 100x better than Louvre.
because:
-impressionist museum (I like impressionism)
-building was an old train station so it’s got character
-easy to navigate
-less crowded/commercial feel
But a Louvre sercurity guard put me on a high for the rest of the day so that’s always a point in the Louvre’s favour!
I crush you! I crush you! That’s how her arms fell off!
Bob and I split up so we could go at our own pace.
I’m wandering one of the rooms just crossing through the threshold when I hear a “psst”. I snap out of my inner thoughts and back up a few steps, leaning back to see a security guard trying to get my attention. Walk over, he tells me I’m beautiful and then I try to start a conversation and he goes”go away now”!!
I walk away confused…
I think it’s just a cultural thing. The french have no problem admiring and vocalizing their appreciation and expecting nothing in return whereas in N. America if you get a compliment, as a girl you have got to be suspicious that they are expecting something in return. They totally need to start changing the way compliments work here so that it’s more like France! I could handle a bunch of compliments, no strings attached!!
