Andrea and I drove to Margaret River to check out the area since we both had a day off. Eveline, unfortunately had to work but she’ll have tons of other opportunities to check out WA in the next month with us.
Everything was basically closed in all the towns leading up to Margaret River but the town, known for it’s wine, was touristy enough to have about half the shops open on the main street. It took us four hours to get there with a couple of stops along the way and a failed attempt to taste some sheep cheese.
Met a girl we stayed in the hostel with the first nights we came to Perth! She is actually staying about 10 minutes away from us in Perth and we happened to run into each other 4 hours away from where we were living. How strange is that?!
Margaret River seems quite small and if we had gotten to the town earlier there might have been the opportunity to check out the choc factory and cheese factory… Maybe another time….
The visited the coast n the area as well. There are tons of places for surfing but the day was cold, windy and rainy so no surfers out today.
My roomie Andrea has gotten an offer to housesit for an aquaintance of her mother’s. He is in the Navy and will be away for 2 months. This means she’s going to live in his house and drive his car. Andrea doesn’t have to sleep on the couch any more! This new house is in a place called Success and is a new neighbourhood about 15 minutes drive from Subiaco (where we currently live).
