Michael, the Virginian, declared a houseparty at our house on Sat Night and the housemates decided after starting at the house we would go to the bar or club to dance.
On the day of you house party we found out that Michael hadn’t called his friends but the house was still planning on going out so they had drinks with dinner and then we went out to the Three Wise Monkeys bar. The girls and guys all danced on the floor with a live band doing 80s and 90s covers. Some of the songs were quite hokey but it was a good time.
We were done at about 2:30am when half of them wanted to go home and the other half wanted to go to another bar, Scruffy Murphy’s. I was tired so I chose to go with the group going home.

There is a dress code for bars and clubs in Australia. Mostly relaxed now but you must wear nice, closed toed shoes, not sneakers. Used to be that the guys had to wear a button up top as well but most places you can get away with a t-shirt now.
There is also a law stating they can’t serve alcohol to drunk people, which we have too but I don’t know if it’s strictly enforced like it is in Australia. Scruffy Murphy’s is a bar that has a reputation for taking anyone who couldn’t get into another bar…
