So, yesterday the 5 of us wandered to Love Hotel Hill near Shibuya where we are staying and saw some interestingly colourful “hotels” where you rent rooms by the hour or by the night… Japanese people sometimes use them to crash if they have drunk too much and can`t make it home. The windows have many costumes in them.. french maid, a strange budweiser bathingsuit and they all advertise that they can make your dreams come true….
Afterwards, we walked to the Harajuku area, known for it’s funky dressed teenage girls and did see some harajuku girls on the train. We shopped on the popular street just outside of the train station and went into a 100 yen store for souvenirs.
I ate and walked around on my own that night as the family was having a meet for the first time dinner. I walked to a large craft store called Tokyo Hands, it`s 9 floors of everything craft related as well as some not so crafty stuff. Camping and travelling gear was on the first floor. I bought a little something from there and then spent about an hour looking for a restaurant for dinner. Every place was packed full because Shibuya is the trendy place to be… Everything I’ve ordered in Japanese restaurants is basically by picture. I did have to buy some food tickets, walk inside and hand them to the waitstaff and the food shows up about 5 minutes later. Japanese fast food at it`s finest.
Needless to say, my feet are killing me this morning but I`m still looking forward to today.
Today is the wedding lunch thingy. There was no ceremony in the American sense but I`m interested to see what happens at the lunch thing later today.
