Cheap Teusday

Last night most of the house went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the movie theatre so naturally I tagged along. It was a strange movie. I don’t remember the book or the first movie made from it but I was totally unnerved by the oompa loompas but I thought Jonny Depp pulled the whole thing off quite well.

In Australia the movie theatres are so similar to Canada, they even play commercials in the theatre and the prices for concession were about the same. THe commercials are preceded by a screen called “pre-show program”. I laughed cuz it’d be pretty sad if someone couldn’t tell that the 30 second short on piracy wasn’t the actual movie they paid to watch!
7.00 for pop and popcorn. that was .50 less than my “student” ticket price.

Sitting in the theatre waiting for the movie to start reminded me of Singapore movie theatres. Strange because they weren’t anything alike at all. The guy selling the tickets would look for almost any excuse to give soemone the student discount, I didn’t get to choose my seat, the seats weren’t as big, and the company was completely different!
