The housing market is so hot in California right now that it’s pretty sad what Margaret is trying to get for her money. You can now purchase with no money down, the condos we looked at were crazy small. 750sq.ft. for 200k+!!
We got the realtor to drop us off at Balboa penninsula. The area is very characteristic. Reminds me a lot of Whyte ave in Edmonton. We walked around, had lunch at the most popular local mexican restaurant and dreamed about owning a house on the beach.
Realizing we had to start heading back so we can shower and change for the big spec dinner, we hiked it up the hill only to find that there are no bus stops around! We start the long, hot, walk in +28C. Not being used the the weather, it was a slow, and painful walk. This almost convinced me that -15C in Edmonton is better.
I think it took about an hour or so but we walked all the way to Fashion Island! No one we asked knew anything about the bus service, even the hotel people! I don’t know how we managed it but we ended up figuring it out and got back on campus just in time for cocktails.
