This morning I went to my interview with the recruitment agency and after taking all the proficiency tests I was offered a temp office job in THEIR office. They are behind in scanning their docments so I am trying to help them catch up. All their client files are stored online. I am also helping them correct the mistakes that their last candidate made. They attached the wrong files to the wrong person. It’s not accounting and it’s not as much pay as I wanted but it’s good enough for now! Australia has different min wages for different industries so I’m getting paid the min wage for an office worker. I prob could have gotten more but I wasn’t going to be picky for my first job with the BOSS recruitment company. 17.30/hr -30% base tax. I was walking home today with a big grin on my face until I calculated that I only made 50.00 that day and I bought a suit jacket that cost that much so…. 😛
Next week I’m working at the Hilton for some kind of conference. And I’m also going to Eddie. he’s coming to town to see some kind of big 4 day concert at Luna Park, an amusement park on the north side of the river.
Quirky thing of day:
After 4:30pm there were about 5 staff members left in the office and they all got wine to drink as they finished their work!
