La Posada de Santiago
Head up the hill from the dock in Santiago, feel exhausted after 5 minutes, grab a “tuk-tuk” to the hotel and hope it has enough power to finish the hill off! Give time for the tuk-tuk to stall at the top of the town while waiting for roadworks, people and one bull on a string. Reach hotel around 20 minutes later: La Posada de Santiago.
Set just up from the Lake away from the main town, this place was going to be a little retreat for a couple of days.
We checked into our bungalow which was very cosy, and included a fireplace and wood to burn. Down the hill and across the road was the pool and wonderful view of Lake Atitlan and itīs surrounding volcanoes.
We spent a whole day here just relaxing and enjoying the rays.
A lovely place to stay if you want to get away from it all. The peace and quiet was broken a little by the roadworks while we were there but these things happen. The food was good and internet service quick.
