Hello, i am brian, one of sebastian´s roommates. I am stoked to start blogging. Today we surfed a wave that doesn`t happen very often. It takes a west swell wrap to really work. We watched it all week and thought that the west was gone, but the wave was there. Sebastian got to see a really, really good wave. Our buddy dave was super stoked and on fire. He`s surfed the wave for the last couple of years and knows it doesn`t happen very often. He`s always telling me how good it is; he was on fire today and got so many great waves. Definitely had a great day. Cosbie went, too, and he did pretty good, too – he got some really good waves, too. Tomorrow morning we`re going to check the spot again. If it`s still there we`ll probably surf it; if not we`ll go somewhere else. We also might take out this guy who started working in my office. He`s surfed a little and we`re pretty good at helping people get up and riding. …so that`s it for now. I`ll let you know how the weekend goes. Ok Zeit euch mal nen bissle was von unserem meist besuchten Surfspot zu erzählen und zu zeigen. Der Spot den wir meistens anlaufen heist three`s oder auch Paradise und liegt direkt vor dem Waikiki outrigger Hotel, allerdings ist es nen ziemlich langer Paddel bis zum eigentlichen Spot ich würde sagen schlappe 600 Meter, was einem ziemlich endlos vorkommen kann und am ende wenn der Spass mit dem Duckdive beginnt ist man meist schon ziemlich fertig. Aber ist man erstmal draußen hat sich die Arbeit gelohnt, denn man surft vor einer unglaublichen Kulisse. Zur rechte Seite guckt man auf den Diamond Head Krater, auf der linken seite sieht man die Wolkenkratzer von Honolulu Downtown und in der Front Waikiki. Bei meinem ersten Tripp da raus dachte ich, da will ich nicht surfen, denn schönen Sandboden wie in Brasilien gibt es da nicht, sondern nur ziemlich ungemütliches Riff. Das gibt einen schon nen komisches Gefühl wenn man auf der Welle ist und sieht das Riff unter einem durchrauschen….. ich denke dann immer nur ok, wenn wipe out dann fall besser flach und mach keinen Sprung mit dem Kopf voran. Meistens ist es dann aber doch etwas tiefer als man denk, es täuscht halt etwas weil das Wasser so klar ist. Dennoch at low Tide is es halt flach….! Ich jedenfalls hatte hier meine besten Sessions, meistens ist es für die anderen Jungs nicht so toll wenn es für mich perfekt ist, denn ich mags wenn die wellen nicht zu schnell sind und lange schieben, so dass ich beim take off nen bissle mehr zeit habe. Trotzdem haben wir immer ganz gut fun und wenn man mit 5 Leuten rauspaddelt ist man ja schon fast alleine ein ganzes line up. Gestern gabs noch nen kleinen Bonus, die Wellen war zwar nich so doll, dafür konnten wir in vielleicht 500 meter Entfernung Waale sehen (dicke fette Buckelwaale) das war ziemlich cool. Hab mich allerdings ziemlich erschrocken, als ich so ins Wasser unter mein Board guckte und ich nen riesigen Stein sah, der so dicht unter meine Füßen vorbei schwamm (war ne ziemlich Fette Schildkröte mit algen auf dem Panzer). Na ja war jedenfalls nen komisches Gefühl. Ansonsten gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, außer das es nen ziemlich unbeschreibliches Gefühl ist, da draußen zu sitzen und zu surfen bis die Sonne unter geht, einfach einmalig…… auch wenn ich den grünen Blitz den es manchmal geben soll wenn die sonne im meer versinkt noch nicht gesehen habe.

i am shure everybody of you knows, that hawaii is the birthplace of surfing and of course our weekends and some evenings under the week are scheduled for surfing. So i want to tell you a bit about the Spot where we are most hanging around. The spot is called three`s or paradise and is located directly in front of the waikiki outrigger hotel. God bless that matt has a card for the multi-story car park…. so that we can park free. Sometimes out is a little bit difficult to bring 6 guys with boards in one elevator…. but we have our special tactic and it works well. So as i said the spot is in front of the outrigger hotel, but out to the real spot it is a long paddle, and i would guess 600 meters. Sometimes this really sucks, and if you are really and the end of your power you have to do the toughest part through the waves. But i can say it is absolutely worth that!! It is an absolutely amazing sceenery on the right side you have a fantastic view on the diamond head crater and on the left side you can see the skyscrapers of honolulu downtown

hier nen paar Bilder von unserem Tripp an die North Shore an einem etwas größeren Tag! Brian und David hatten ne Menge Spass, für mich wars das sicherste mir den Wahsinn vom Strand anzugucken! Aber wie gesagt die beiden hatten Spass haben zwar in 2 Stunden nur ne handvoll Wellen gekriegt, die hatten es aber in sich. Ich war froh das ich mir das vom Strand angeguckt habe als der Typ mit dem total zerborstenen Brett an mir vorbei lief. Aber was soll ich sagen das nur mal zu sehen war der Wahnsinn. Und es geht noch wesentlich größer!!! Danach brauchten wir erstmal nen Haupia pie. Besteht zu 80 Prozent aus Zucker and cream und die restlichen 20% wer weiß……, aber das Zeug gibt dir was du brauchst nach so nem surf und schmeckt verdammt gut. Viel Spass mit den Fotos und seit froh das ihr da nicht am Strand in der Sonne warten musstet…….

 here the Pic`s of our trip to the North Shore on a day where it was a little bit bigger. Brian and David had lots of fun, for me it was absoluteley more secure to watch that crazy shit from the secure beach. Brian and David only catched a couple of waves in 2 hours, but that waves were awsome and as i said i could see it in there face that they were happy and that there was lots of adrenaline involved. Just seeing that huges waves was awsome and the guys told me that this was one of the really smaler of the big days, so i am excited to see North Shore at a really big day, maybe when famous waimea bay is breaking. Afterwords we all needed i Haupia pie to recover, it is made of 80% sugar and cream and the other 20% who knows…… but that is what you need after such a day, and it really tasts awsome. As you can see on the pictures david did a unbelieveable balancing job with that Haupia pie on that small fork, but was his own car…..! So guys enjoy the fotos and be glad that you where not there and had to wait in the beautyfull sun at that beautyfull beach……

 hier nun endlich der lange versprochene Blog. Ich habe mich entschieden diesen Blog als offene Blog für meine Roomies zu gestalten so das jeder von ihnen die Zugangsdaten hat und sachen ändern und hinzufügen kann. Das wird also sicherlich nicht ein typischer Blog mit nur Bildern von mir und Hawaii, aber so habt ihr die chance hier wirklich einen Ausschnitt aus meinem Leben hier zu sehen. Wen das nicht interessiert, der kann ja einfach nur mal drüber klicken und muss nicht lesen.

 here the long promised Blog. I decided to creat it as an open blog where every of my roomies have the acces data and can ad and create topics and comments in the blog. So this will not be a typical blog where you just will find pictures of me and hawaii, but i think that gives you the chance to see how my live here really is, and part of that and the reasson why it is so cool is because of these guys i live with, so you should invest some time to check out all the stuff.  hier die der Lagebericht und die Fotos vom ersten Barbecue in meinem neuen zu Hause. Wie ihr sehen könnt hat es an nichts gefehlt, das Fleisch ist echt super und auch sonst hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das die Vodkaflaschen hier schonmal ne halbe Galone groß sind sieht man dann auch so manchen partygast an. Mit dem Bier steh ich noch so nen bissle auf kriegsfuß, aber ich habe hier schon nen paar Quellen aufgetan wo man deutsches Bier oder mein Favoriten Pilsener Urquell von den Freunden aus der Chez. Rep. bekommen kann. Und den Jungs mundet das auch ganz gut. Ansonsten gabe es keine schlimmeren Ausfälle der obligatorische cleaning job war dementsprechend groß, aber das ist ja normal. an diesem Abend ging die Krohne für den besten Blutalkohol gehalt höchstwahrscheinlich an Brian, auch wenn da noch der ein oder andere Konkurrent im Spiel war……

ich war es diesmal nicht

 Here the report and pictures from my first barbecue in my new home. As you can see on the pics we had enough from everything and there was no lack of vodka due to the size ( half a gallon) of the american vodka bottles,  you can see that at the eyes at some of the partypeople but have a look yourself. The meat is really good and compaired to germany relatively cheap. I still have my problems with the american beer, but i am glad to say that there are some good beers from germany and especially  my favorite Pilsener Urquell from the chez. rep. in the grocery stores. And i can report that i was able to convice the guys from the quality of our beer especially from the erdinger Hefeweizen. The guys were going a little bit crazy as i told them that in bavaria a good breakfest comes with a large beer. So maybe we will check out the oktoberfest together anytime. There is not much more to say no really bad excidetns happend, the obligatory cleaning job was a biggger one and some guys managet it to wake up after it was done (the one knows who i mean….. big sweet…..). The crown for the guy that was the most sheets to the find goes to brian i think, also there have been some tough competitors (estimated 7 sheets to the wind). i am glad to report that i did not take place in that race for this day……. but highly likely i will join in next time.
