Yummmm……….Kangacurry!
The other night I was deciding what to cook for dinner and everyone requested a curry, so off I went to the supermarket to get supplies. While scouring the butchery department I saw some lovely, juicy looking marinated meat that would be perfect for a curry. It was cheap too and it was…..kangaroo. Now, I knew that if I went back and announced that we were having kangaroo for dinner I would have lots of protests, so I decided to just quietly get on with cooking dinner (and quickly hide the packaging!)
Guess what? They loved it! What was hilarious was listening to the comments about how nice the meat was while they were eating it. I waited until Michaella had finished her second helping and as we were clearing up the plates I casually asked, “So how did you all like the kanga curry?” There were loads of squeals and shock that I fed them the cute little ‘roos that they were patting the other day.
Next on the menu is kangabangers. Maybe not this week though, I need to build up some trust with the girls so I can trick them again! (It’s all good training for South-East Asia, they need to toughen up!)

Oh I love it – would have loved to have seen the girls faces!! When they get to asia they will be eating bugs and snakes – and the Kanga curry will seem quite tame!!
