My travel so far !
My grandmother says – There is no better learning experience than traveling. Fortunately, this philisophy percolated down to everyone in my family, so, being bitten by the travel bug, I started travelling as early as my earlier school grades. To name a few (and to even keep a record for myself) places I have been fortunate enough to visit are as follows:
1) 1990 – A road trip from Pune, Maharashtra to Vivekananda rock, southern most trip of India.
2) 1993 – A trek to Pindari Glacier in the Kumaon Himalayas, UP, India.
3) 1994 – A trek to Har-Ki-Dun in the Garhwal Himalayas, UP, India.
4) 1995 – A trek to Beas Kund as well as Patalsu Base Camp in Himachal Pradesh, India.
5) 1996 – A trek to Dodital in Garhwal Himalayas.
6) 1996 – A trip to “The Switzerland of the East”, Jammu and Kashmir, India
7) 1997 – A trek to Kafni Glacier in Kumaon Himalayas, UP, India.
8) 1997 – A trip to Leh in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
9) February ‘ 1998 – A skiing course in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India.
10) June ‘ 1998 – Basic Mountaineering Course in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India.
11) January ‘ 1999 – Summitted Fort Lingana, Maharashtra, India.
12) June ‘ 2001 – Summitted Mt. Thelu ‘ Garhwal Himalayas ‘ UP, India.
13) December ‘ 2001 – A road trip through Texas, USA.
14) May ‘ 2002 – A road trip in New England States, USA.
15) June ‘ 2004 – A road trip through Route – 66 (Tulsa, OK to Santa Monica beach, CA), USA.
16) May ‘ 2005 – A road trip throughout the entire Eastern States of USA.
17) November ‘ 2005 – A trip to Colorado and summit attempt up Mt. Elbert, USA.
18) December ‘ 2005 – A trip to Guadalupe Mountain National Park, TX, USA.
I really want to write about each and every trip, but as usual, don’t have time. Will try to upload travel accounts as well as pictures as soon as I can.
