Really Missing and Having a really good time

Bless me folks, for it has been 2 week since my last confession. I have left Korea bound for better food and no more Kimchi. In China, the food has been wonderful and not a bit of rotten cabbage to be found. I’ve been in China for over 2 weeks and this is the first time I’ve had some time to myself and a chill out moment to blog. I took a ferry ride from Incheon to Qingdao, China Weidong Ferry (yes, that’s the place they make the beer (spelled Tsing Tao on the bottle). Beer Street I met a great guy on the boat, Les, that’s been teaching English in Asia for over a year. He introduced me to a bunch of good peeps, especially Lily, and showed me around Qingdao and took me to a relaxing bath house (yes, I know that may sound bad 2 u) but that’s just Asia. Men like to walk around naked in public bath houses and get scrubbed down, soaked, and massaged. Go figure! No, no, no happy ending. Sorry, no pictures this time. Of course, I went to the brewery and drank from the Tsing Dao well as I had drunk from the mother’s teet in Dublin at Guiness brewery.  Tsing Dao Bar

I found a nice little spot to crash for 40Y/night 5 USD in a 4 bed dorm, but I was the only one in it. The staff there are very friendly. Donkey spoke a little English, but his friend Ken spoke a bit more. Between they’re broken Engrish and my broken Chinese we were able to communicate and they helped me get around town. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms, well were bathrooms in China. The Hostel, 31 Jining Lu (san shir E, G ning loo), is close to the train and ferry terminals (flag fall in a taxi 7Y), but a bit far away from the main part of town where the Carrfore and Jusco shopping plazas are.

I also took a day to head out to Laoshan (old mountain) to hike and climb around there. Treasure Life No ClimbingThe mountain is near the eastern coast of china and has some spectacular ocean vistas. Ocean Vistas  I’ll try to upload some pics when I get a chance.
