Hermione flees to Cuba using a Befuddlement Draught

Checked out of my hostel this morning. After this I’m going to go check in at the YHA. Had brunch at the lilypad cafe, which is a funky, mostly veggie cafe. I had the Turkish brekkie, which was lotsa yummy veggies (olives, sundried tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, roast peppers), feta and toasted turkish bread. Mmmmmm
Reading the latest Kathy Reichs. I thought I had finished the series, but it turns out there was one more. So that’s enjoyable (although from the back cover, it looks like the mystery is going to center on a garroting, which I’m nearly positive Aaron Elkins has already done).
Garbage’s single will be officially released on Monday, which means – a new B-SIDE!! There’s a 1 minute sample of it (Betcha) on you tube, but I’m gonna refrain from judgment till I can hear the whole thing. There’ll also be a making of the Tell me Where it Hurts vid.

Interesting (if basic) 5 movie HP comparison at the NYTimes

And this from a John Travolta interview: “What Mr. Travolta wanted was a seamless transformation; it was not lost on him that the last time such a cross-gender feat had been seriously tried — in “The Year of Living Dangerously” — it had won Linda Hunt an Oscar.” Umm… what about Boys do cry (I guess that isn’t quite the same)? Or the Crying Game (okay – I haven’t seen that, but isn’t it the same idea?)?
Found a really good internet cafe in the center of town. It has headphones. I’m watching AFI live. 🙂

Well, it’s been a long time since I was in H.S., but I seem to recall that “Weasels Ripped my Flesh” was a Frank Zappa album…or tune….

Clever of a group to pick up the name…
