Patagonia- Torres del Paine
Hola de nuevo! De vuelta en Chile por unos dias (doce horas en autobus) para ir a ver el Parque Nacional Torres del Paine (foto abajo) y Puerto Natales.
ENG: Back in Chile for a few days, heading north from Ushuaia we stopped overnight in Punta Arenas (12 hours by bus!!!) on the way to Puerto Natales and the Torres Del Paine National Park (see the pic below)
De vuelta cruzando el Estrecho de Magallanes el mar estaba mas revuelto que a la ida. En el camino hacia Punta Arenas vimos todo nevado de nuevo la foto es desde el bus.
ENG: This time it was a very rough 15 minutes crossing the straights of Magellan to get back onto the American continent. The bus journey to Puerto Natales passed through highlands where there was a bit of snow. Ruari, we promise we´ll make you a snowman as soon as we get a chance!
Ya en el Parque Nacional Torres del Paine (si vas a venir hacerlo ya porque estan subiendo los precios tan altos como las mismas torres) alli fuimos a la cueva del Milodon un animal prehistorico, cuyos restos y piel fueron encontrados en esa cueva, ahora solo queda una reproduccion a tamaño real… cuidadito con el ..si se enfada…!!
ENG: Before entering the Torres del Paine National Park, we stopped off at the Cave of the Milodon, a prehistoric creature whose remains were found at the cave, quite a big chap here as you can see in the reconstruction that guards the entry to the cave!
De nuevo nos encontramos con baquianos en el camino, con sus perros y su caballo es la forma que tiene de transladar las reses (de ovejas o vacas o las dos )como se hace desde siempre.
Eng:There were lots of shepherds on horseback, or baiquanos as they call them here. As the cattle and sheep stations are so huge, horseback is pretty much the only way they can herd their animals.
Por todo el camino se puede ver casi toda la fauna tipica del Torres del Paine. Este condor adulto (por el collar blanco) con alas de 3m de embergadura es el rey del planeo y del Parque Nacional. Y el guanaco, primo hermano de la llama y el camello solo tipico de esta zona, es muy facil verles con toda la manada comiendo tranquilamente. En la ultima foto unos ñandus (familia del avestruz) que corre hasta 40Kms/h, nosotros los vimos mas relajaditos.
Eng: Plenty of wildlife to be seen in the National Park, we saw lots of condors, they have a huge 3 metre long wingspan and stand up to 1 metre tall! The native guanaco, similar to the llama further north, but only found here in Patagonia. To the right you can see some rheas, (similar to the ostrich) which are capable of running at up to 40km/hr.
Con los paisajes no tuvimos mucha suerte, estaba bastante nublado. Este parque junto a El Chalten ( Argentina) son la meca del trecking, hay caminos de hasta 15 dias. Ahora todos los refugios estan cerrados y la unica opcion es tienda de campaña con temperaturas bajo cero, el unico hotel abierto es demasiado caro para mochileros o para gente que lleva 7 meses caminando caminos.
Eng: And now for the scenery, pity it was a bit cloudy though. This park is a trekkers paradise, there are several long hikes, ranging from 4-15 days long. As we´re in the low season most of the mountain shelters are closed, the only alternative being either a tent (no way, not in below zero temperatures, thanks!) or the only one remaining shelter, more like a hotel, at 100US$ per night, not on our budget I´m afraid! Here you can see the Torres del Paine chain from a distance, then the main peak from the Emerald Lagoon, and finally lake grey with it´s icebergs coming from the Grey glacier at the other end of the lake.
Cogimos un pedacito de hielo del Glaciar Grey, uno de los cientos que hay en estos lagos y rios de hielo de la Patagonia tanto en Chile como en Argentina..Nuestro proximo destino..!

well you got your ice sculpture, uniquely carved by nature, the Grey Glacier and Lake Grey, you´ll have to do with that for a while till we get to some snow, we can´t just stop the bus like madmen and demand he let us out to build a snowman! Now we´re heading towards the coast, so there´s less likely chance it will snow, but we will be returning to the mountains before hitting B.A. (Buenos Aires for those of you who aren´t with it!). So with some luck, we´ll probably get some snow to make a snow man, ya know we want it just as badly as you!!!!!
Enjoy the cruise eh! And pass on the blog address to those who know us and weould be interested, hopefully there´ll be a few…

Por aqui dicen que la fecha es 2012 segun el calendario Maya, para escoger el lugar donde vivir..es la segunda vez que lo escuchamos, en Abel Tasman, NZ y en Valparaiso, Chile… A ver que nos cuentan por Peru y hablando de avaricia esto me recuerda cuando fuimos a ver el glaciar Perito Moreno y teniamos que coger un barco habia un grupo de spanis (90 de ellos) , esssclusivo y privado y llenos de idiotas . nos dejaron fuera a James a mi y a otro chico español… luego al final nos salio bien porque cogimos el barco 2 horas despues y solo eramos 5 en el barco, pero yo me pase refunfuñando toda la tarde..pijos de mierda!!

Por cierto hoy se celebra el dia de la independencia Argentina con España— 25 Mayo 1816 (Como si no hubiera llovido desde entonces… :/ .. hoy los restaurantes estaban hasta la bandera (argentina) y nos hemos comido una especie de paella y dos botellas de vino blanco que todavia estamos peo.
Cambiendo de tema …a ver si podemos hacer mas fotos de animalillos para animaros en esos dias tristes.. por lo menos teneis el verano mas cerca …!! eh!
Hablando de vuelta a la realidad.. lo chungo es cuando volvamos dentro de 4 meses..mmm … mejor no pensarlooooo..lalalala!!Por cierto pasaselo la direccion del blog a Pilar, nos molaria que lo viese!

We just arrived in Puerto Madryn, 23 hours further north by bus, a relatively comfortable journey, believe it or not! Hopefully we´ll get to see some whales, they´ve just arrived for the breeding season.

lo malo de guardarse como recuerdo , los “tempanillos” de hielo en el bosillo es que cuando esteis de vuelta vais a creer que los pastores os los han quitado y ademas se os han meado en los bolsillos.

Pero Coronel Pringles no queda muy lejos de Buenos Aires. Coronel Pringles ESTA en Buenos Aires… En la provincia de Buenos Aires, que es a lo que me refería yo.
Además no está a 700 Km como dices, sino apenas a 500Km. Y eso, en un país que mide casi 3800Km de punta a punta, no es lejos… A menos que vayas en patineta claro. 😉

Como de grande es ese pueblo de Pringles? No se si merece la pena hacer un desvio de 500km (Roman eso si que es mucha distancia, y Argentina es enorme!!!!) para hacer la foto de Col Pringles, pero si nos pilla de paso, pues a ver! Es curioso , en estos viajes estamos viendo muchos animales, paisajes y gente maja.. pero lo que no nos esperabamos encontrar es a una mujer con el mismo nombre que mi madre…vive en un pueblo en la provincia de Buenos Aires, hay Aladro..s en Rojas y en otro pueblo que no me acuerdo ahora , tengo el telefono y les llamare a ver si podemos averiguar como han llegado a haber 2 Blanca Aladro en el mundo.. y por lo visto casi 3..!! No se que decirla sin que parezca que la estoy tomando el pelo.. Si llamo a la puerta y cuando abre la digo mamaaaaa!! Igual la da un sincope!!
