Chic@s lo primero… gracias por seguir con nosotros, tardamos tanto en publicar el siguiente post porque acabamos con el espacio del blog ,lo hemos solucionado temporalmente, reduciendo unas cuantas fotos antiguas…para poder seguir con vosotros.

Durante todo este verano (en el hemisferio sur), el Gobierno de la ciudad aprovecho cualquier oportunidad para regalarle a los porteños, conciertos y actividades culturales invadiendo los espacios normalmente destinados para los coches y la polucion… No sabeis que gusto da la Avenida 9 de Julio sin trafico. En la otra foto el concierto que Daniel Baremboin dio el dia de fin de año.
ENG: Plenty of concerts organised by the local government. This one was a famous composer Daniel Barenboim. We took the opportunity to take a cool pic with NO TRAFFIC on Ave. 9 de Julio, a breath of fresh air (well kind of…)
En fin de año, de tranqui, nos fuimos de cena , donde empezamos a cenar a las 2 de la mañana, paellitaaaaaa !!! y la bebida era gratis.. imaginaros como llegamos a una fiesta que teniamos despues. De derecha a izquierda: Cesar, Maritza, Jose , la mua y James.
ENG: New Year’s Eve, we went out for dinner with friends from (l-r) César, his sister Maritza, girlfriend to José, Quene and myself… We didn’t start eating till about 2.00am, the place was jammers, but we did have plenty of free wine while we were waiting for the food!!!
Despues de la cena nos fuimos a una fiestuki en el centro Cultural del Connex del que volvimos temprano a casa.. como a las 10 de la mañana.. jejeje. Atencion a un detalle del vaso lo que se ve salir es la bebida..
ENG: After dinner we headed to a New Years Eve party at the Connex Cultural Centre. Went on till the wee or not so wee hours of the morning, I think we left there at about 10.00am…!!!
Richie fue el primero en visitarnos por BsAs, con el estuvimos en Nueva Zelanda, (el post llamado sobreviviendo Richie.., pues ahora seria Richie sobreviviendo BsAs… sobrevivio y le encanto los choripanes, la carne, el vino, las argentinas y la ciudad, nos prometio aprender español para poder pedir los choripanes el mismo. En la foto de en medio haciendo ese salto de Michael Jordan que le hizo famoso.
ENG: Ahhhh, you may have seen that guy somewhere before on the blog (the post called Surviving Richie) . That’s Richie, who used to live in New Zealand, who stopped off in B.A. for a few days en route from Dublin to Melbourne… We took a stroll around Puerto Madero, some funny pics! Subtitle to this post “Surviving Richie II – B.A.”
James y Richie se fueron a visitar “la bombonera”, el estadio del Boca Juniors hasta les hicieron una rueda de prensa.
ENG: Myself and Richie paid a visit “La Bombonera” (the chocolate box because of its shape…). Boca’s stadium in the south of the city. The world travellers even got to have their own press conference, hahaha!!!
En el siguiente post que prometemos que no tardaremos 2 meses ..os ennseñaremos Colonia en Uruguay, un pueblito precioso a la orilla del Rio de la Plata.

Hay muchisimos cursos interesantes… tan baratos (si los traduces al euro aunque ya no deberiamos pensar en euro, si queremos volver debe estar en algun lado del cerebro para no que nos de un soponcio.

Pero eso es bueno para los embalses.
Lo malo es que no hicieran más embalses aunque fueran miniembalses para controlar un poco las riadas que llenan las casas construidas en las rieras secas en cuanto caen cuatro o cuatrocientas gotas.

HAHAHA, Laughing out loud here, Was listening to tripple J today myself and went to a mexican restaurant for dinner, freaky coinkidink or whA! :). Kitted my new house out for furniture today, uuuuh so much dosh had to buy sofas, beds all the stuff for the kicktchen completely unfurnished, gotta go get a fridge and a washing machine tommorow. 2 seconds two the beach man it is sweet. Thinking about inviting blanket man over so he can stay in the spare bedroom, might be hard to get him to chip in on bills and stuff as I’m not sure donated KFC is accpeted by the folks at the gas company :). Got up at 6am on thursday to watch liverpool beat barcelona…. we have an argentinian playing for us now too!! Another late one tonight Ireland play england in croke park at 4:30am here gonna catch some zzzzs now and get up for the game, then I gotta wait for Ikea to deliver. What is going on, go to Australia for the lifestlye they say, the adventure they say, all I’ve been doing so far is getting drunk designing code and looking at furntiture… exactly the same as home but for the furniture… changes are a foot methinks

Bueno, bueno, ya se os echaba de menos. Hoy casualmente busqué a ver si había algo nuevo y me lo encuentro: Er fin de año, che!!!
Por aquí seguimos bien, empezamos el año con mucha energía y fiesta y rodando los fines de semana por la península. El pasado tocó “convención” en una Sidrería de Lasarte (Donosti), lo pasamos como los indios pues éramos más que Alibabá y los 40 ladrones, en total 46 crápulas de diferentes partes de la península, la sidra rica, la comida mejor y el paisaje nos trató muy bien y nosotros nos dejamos mimar 🙂
Gueno, que veo que no hay plan de volver pues a disfrutar. Por cierto, Sergio (Valencia) se va de rule por el mundo en breve. Posiblemente mediados de abril pero aún no sé qué quiere visitar.

The kids you met have moved on to second year, but I have remained a first year teacher. Would be great for them to follow your travels around the world – what a service you are providing here – alas I don’t have much contact with them this year, but I will remind them whenever I see them.
We put on the musical ‘Wizard of Oz’ for our grand school opening. That was at the end of April last year. Remember you helped to teach a lesson or two on that?
Check out the links below (will they work? I don’t know?): there are some photos of the musical (you taught the ‘Tinman’ tho you won’t recognise him in his costume) and some school footie photos too; you’ll find me in a few of them. I look like an ‘out the shape’ Ronaldo don’t you think? ha and score like him too – I finished top-scorer in the HK amateur football league last year. Not so good this year, plagued with injuries all season which is another story I’ll tell you later. The musical is an annual production and taken very seriously here – it’s the lifeblood of the school. It’s also done very professionally with a number of professional drama, music & dance instructors contracted in to work on it. There are tonnes of photos on the school’s website, but hard to find as everything is in Chinese.

Anyway it’s a Saturday morning here and I’m at work – working very hard as you can see 😉 I need to finish this shortly.
Some nice piks from Caba Frio, pity about the weather on the Copacabana, and the diving! J is that Copoeira or cart-wheels you are doin the beach? Copoeira is popular here in HK and also in Osaka while I was there. I nearly attended a class myself, but in the end decided to go footie training instead. That was a monster bus journey into BA you had! How good/ bad was that?
You are certainly making a good case for visiting BA. Best of luck there lads. Sending many good wishes to you, and hopefully some work so that you can pay the bills 😉 Will you ever return ‘home’? Maybe physically some day, but not mentally, right?

Pete’s birthday was last weekend, had a good chat with him, all good back home!
It is amazing how cultural things can be so popular in other countries like Tango or Capoeira.
James was doing cart-wheels it’s good practice for capoeira though.
I “Quene” just finished a 2 week course in theatre set design, the theme was Turandot by Puccini and got my inspiration in all the pics we took in HK and China… beautiful countries ..we would love to go back…

Yea, we were really unlucky with the weather in Brazil, but what can ya do? The bus trip back into BA was long, 2 nights on board! We had to change buses half way through, but ended up getting an “upgrade” to the exec class, where they serve you wine/champers/whisky and some decent grub, with a 180′ declinable seat, way better than any plane travel we’ve done (economy class only) 🙁
South America is definitely a place that everyone should visit at least once, so much to see here, it’s amazing, we have to do more!

Tengo pintura hasta las cejas, estoy haciendo un trueque con mi profe, la ayudo a pintar la casa y me lo cambia por clases, esto es muy comun en BsAs, sobretodo cuando paso la crisis del 2001 y la gente no tenia plata.
Por cierto, tengo un cuadro en Paraguay.. ehhhhhhh!! Recibi una comision de Rebecca, una cantante de opera de Paraguay que quiere que la vaya dibujando a cada personaje que ha echo..aqui podeis entrar en la galeria y ver Gilda de Rigoletto.

Os escribo desde un Madrid “ventoso”; parece que estamos en los clifts de Moher, impresionante; estaba volviendo de la comida con una compañera de curre y un golpe de viento la tiró encima de un coche, por fortuna el coche estaba casi parado y no le ha pasado nada más que unas magulladuras.
Cris, acabo de entrar en el site de tus obras, molan un montón, una de ellas recuerdo haberla visto en una exposición que hiciste en Dublín, eres una artistaza. Cuando vuelvas me gustaría comprarte algo (si mi sueldo de currante me lo permite 🙂

Por aqui esta haciendo mucho calor y cuando se acumula caen unas tormentas que no veas… por aqui ya se acerca el otonyo…ahhhhhhgg!!
Has visto la peli de Al Gore? esta muy bien este hombre sabe hablar, no como el “doubleya” ..que por cierto estos dias estara por Uruguay y me pregunto que se les ha perdido a los americanos por estas latitudes, y el viernes viene Chavez a BsAs, espero que no esten planeando ninguna movida por aqui….que miedo!!
A mi se me esta acabando la plata por aqui (una movida con el dentista que no contaba con ello y zas! – Al menos es mas barato que en Europa) , asi que voy a ver si paseo perros o pinto a la penya por la calle..o cualquier cosa porque paso del “Game Over”…. y tambien paso de los call centers.
Depende de como me va para decidir si nos quedamos o no (James esta haciendo traducciones por internet, ahora a ver si me toca a mi)…hay mil cursos interesantes y muy baratos asi que hay que aprovecharlo antes de volver al pais de la titulitis.
Cuando volvamos iremos a Madrid un tiempo y a ver que tal va… despues de 9 anyos sin vivir alli tengo un poco de panico de ese del sindrome del emigrante retornado…. o el que le dio al Willy Fogg cuando volvio…jajajaja…!!!
Conocimos a un chico que esta dando la vuelta tambien y escribe en el tiramillas del Marca y nos acaba de dejar para ir a la Patagonia, ya os pasaremos el link.
Asia es increible, si se da la vuelta al mundo que mire los vuelos del One World para 2000 euros veintitantos vuelos… Si tiene pensado Australia le pasaremos el telefono del Richie y de la hermana del James y si pasa por aqui pues le veremos.

Y a ti te llevamos con nosotros y asi te oyen por el hemisferio norte el flipe de voz que tienes… y montamos una como la que montamos en el Boom Boom Room (un garito de Jazz en Dublin) cuando vinieron un grupo que trajo mi prima que tocaba la txalaparta (instrumento vasco muy antiguo que suena increible)… yo ya lo empiezo a organizar que las cosas no estan como para dormirse..

FELIZ ST PATRICKS DAY…!!!!No te preocupes que te esperaremos.. nosotros no sabemos que hacer si irnos en un par de meses o que… la verdad es que personalmente echo mucho de menos Dublin, yo aqui no encuentro trabajo, la cultura es muy similar a Espanya, incluida la dificultad de encontrar laburos…y la plata se me esta acabando.
Hoy ademas al ser el dia de San Patricio estamos viendo por internet la cabalgata en Dublin y oyendo las noticias y nos esta entrando la morrinya, echamos de menos a nuetros amigos alli… aqui casi no conocemos a nadie despues de 5 meses.
En fin, oye que se me olvido contestarte por hotmail.. ya te mando el link de Luis ..que debe andar ya por tu pais..te mandare su mail por si de casualidad pasa por Concepcion.
