Coach Surfing, the way forward?
Thought I would share this with anyone who cares to read this. I can not for the life of me remember who told me about this site but it was someone I met on the road in the USA. the site is www.couchsurfing.com
It is a great idea, people ( I assume mostly travellers ) who have a couch can offer it up for fellow travellers to crash on. What a great way to travel and keep the cost of accomadation down with the aditional bonus of meeting up with locals in the place you are visiting.
Well I signed up a week ago now offering my couch out to fellow travellers and had my first request a few days ago. Myriah, a Canadian girl travelling around Europe for 5 months wanted to crash at mine for a night before she headed up to Scotland. She had flown into London from Austria and caught a coach upto Birmingham where I picked her up. She was a really nice person and we had loads to talk about with both of our trips. After a night out with a few of my friends and one hell of a hangover we got round to talking about future travel as Myriah’s 5 month trip was virtually over to. She wants to do Thailand and I would love to go back as there is just so much Ive not seen yet, so we decided that this is something to plan as we would both be up for the trip. Guess I could work for like 4/5 months, save like crazy and pack work in to travel again. Its amazing how opportunities just appear.
