Day 25, Bangkok, Big Macs
Well I think Ive started a craze in Thailand……
Let me start at the begining… A few years ago whilst working for Halifax in Cannock, Mcdonalds had a promotion buy one get one free on their big macs… We bought 12 and got 12 free. So from memory there was myself, Ant, Ray, Andy, Daud, Mank ( work Exp Kid ). now 24 is alot of Big macs so we decided to see who could eat them in the least number of bites. Not proud of this but I won with 2 bitesm which I think cant be beaten unless you stuff a whole one in in one go….
Now this story (along with many others) came out whilst we all sat on a beach in Ko Phangan. I explained the science behind it, it goes like this.
The first bite is the most important, as 2nd bite has to be the rest of the big mac. I call this crescent mooning a big mac because of the shape after the first bite.
This feat was only ever done once by myself in the office as stated. Now the guys Im travelling withdidnt know if this was true or not, then one drunken night in Ko Samui we stumbled over a Mcdonalds and the guys want to see it done. What could I do???
Managed it in style and got it on video much to the delight of many onlookers and staff in there.
This story has been told many times over now and tried by all the lads. At this point I should say do not try it as chaz whos a big bloke nearly died on his first atempt by choking and had to have the himnik(spl?) manauver done on him.
Its now become a competative sport with Murph last night doing 2 big macs in a toatal of 4 bites, whilst being watched by staff and customers, we then got some aussies to try it and an american who wouldnt but said it was easy ( full of shit )
Today we even boutgh a website domain name crescentmooning.com for $14 2 years. we plan to explain the science behind it and put pics and videos on there, also letting other people put there pics on there from around the world…
All this from one of my strories, how random/mad is that????
Anyhows day 25 consisted of yetanother Chang over then I went shopping at MBK wich is the biggest most Hi Tech shopping centre Ive ever been in, spent hours in there and looked at cameras cause I think mines on its last legs. Then headed south by sky train to the river, accross it by ferry and walked round Local Bangkok. Never seen so many rabid dogs, beggers etc so jumped in taxi and headed home.
Met up with the guys at 8 and headed for a meal, then taxi to Patpong…..
We saw girls firing pingpong balls out of them selves!!!!! Murph got hit by a Bannana fired out of one girl. Someone else inserted a pen into them selves and wrote welcome to Patpong on a piece of card. Something we all wanted to exp but none of us really enjoyed it, just too seedy. We headed back to Khoa San Road for a few beers.
Met Aparni who is an Australian girl we met on night train and 4 other girls she is with, had a few beers and headed to Susi bar to dance, all got drunk. I ended up buying about 70 huge balloons filled with helium for just over 3 pound, gave loads away and rest just filled my hotel room with. Its now 5am on the Khoa San Road and Im heading to bed, will put up pics on here later 2day.
2moro Chaz and I will get tickets to Cambodia and plan to travel there on tue, 13 hours by coach, dont now what internet is like there, but theres only 1 atm machine in the whole country so will have to see. We plan to head back to Thailand on Fri though so shouldnt be missing for long folks. night….

ahh memories! I remember it well… can’t believe u remember manc the work ex kid, i’d forgotten all about him. I think I took 4 bites… proper wimped out on that, it’s harder than u think to do. “in 2” is an awesome feat and truly a sight to behold (think, David Attenborough commentating on a bird-eating snake in the jungle.. (u ought to find that soundbite and put it on your crescentmooning site)). will cut n paste this blog and forward it to Daud. cya later
