Day 14, Ko Pha-Ngan!!!!!

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Where do I start now, We caught the sleeper train from Bangkok to Surat Thani. 13 hours… about 1 hour into the trip we discovred the party carridge… ok sounds good but no one in there but a few thais sitting eating. We went in and after a few changs changed and turned up the music. More and more people joined us and we had a right dance and sank loads of beers. A couple of Australians were even brave enough to join. 3 guesses what topic of conversation we brought up…. ( the Ashes for the girls) also the rugby…. all good fun. ( pics to follow)

We arrived in Surat Thani and a short bus drive to ferry port were we had to wait an hour for our ferry. two and a half hours then to Ko Pha-Ngan. Whilst on the ferry we met up with an Israely girls and we all played a game of cards called shit head for two hours listening to Oasis ( speakers leant to me by Justin Rock…. Cheers buddy )

Arriving on the Island we were approached by loads of thais offering us accomadation, which in this instance was handy cause we had not booked anything at all.

We wanted to be near Hat Rin were the full moon party is to happen on sunday night but not to close. We ended up in paradise….. a little place called Ban Tai. The 3 of us ended up with our own beach hut, private beach for 100 bhat each a night, just over a pound…….

Sorry mom cause now you will start worrying……..

We all hired motorbikes within minutes of arriving again just over a pound a day to rent and you fill em uo fro a pound beats pertol crisis back home haha.

None of us had ridden before, I opted for a manual, Chaz ( Charlie ) and Murphy ( Ant ) oppted for automatics. We had alittle practice before heading out. It took Chaz less than a minute to crash his on the gravel road at 5 mph, grazing his arm, he will live but he is a big bugger and the bike looks so little under him.

We headed out and and turned right and just followed the road eventually going higher and higher up this long winding road into jungle, AMAZING. We then headed back and realised we dont know were we are staying cause our beach huts are at the bottom of a long dusty road. Not saying I wasnt a little worried but it took us a while ( chaz and I ) to get back, we had lost Murphy at this point and to put us to shame he found his way straight back and was chillin with a drink on our eventual return.

We just chilled on hamocks for the rest of the day before getting ready for the night out in Hat Rin.

The next bit of this I dont think I can do it justice on here……

We headed into Hat Rin by pickup truck takes about 10 minutes to get there and started to look around. It was about 8 ish and to be honest it was quiet and I was a little disapointed. We grabbed tea and headed to the beach.

We ended up in a bar called Cactus by about 9ish, there was us 3 a thai barman and a dog licking himself on the dance floor, I was ready to head home at this point. We went for a strole and talked with a few and I never thought but this place is like holidays in europe, we were told that things start around midnight and sure enough at midnight there was at least 1000 people in the place that was 3 hours ago empty. Tshirt says it all What followed was truely fantastic and has to go down as the greatest party and night of my life, dancing and drinking on the beach. We got our beers from a 7/11 store to save cash and met so many people from all over the world.

We eventually got home at 5am and crashed out all 3 of us had such a fab night……..

    Hey,
Just wondering what the name of the establishment you stayed at in Koh Pahngan? Looks great, trying to find some accommodation cheap as I am heading there in a couple weeks.
    Thanks!
