Fear and Loathing in London / Close Encounters of the Weird Kind.

We were walking around the park when the Mushrooms kicked in. Flashing lights filled the sky, dancing around each other, moving in formations. "Can you see them too?", I asked Ed my imaginary friend, He could.

U.F.O's or Shared Hallucinations? Whatever.... it was weird.

One of our London adventures took us to the Camden Markets, where we bumped into the Camden Mushroom Company. Due to a loop hole in British Law the CMC (or indeed anyone) can sell Magic Mushrooms on the high street as long as they are fresh and unprepared (as in unaltered by man, not disorganised mushrooms). Since they set up business a few years ago the British Home Office has been trying everything to change the law, but Holland has legalised and exports Magic Mushrooms and international law prevents one country from banning another's exports. It's really only a matter of time, but for now business continues and is booming by the look of it - it's harder to find a shop along the main strip that doesn't sell them. It doesn't stop there though, you can get them home delivered (say what?). In the spirit of scientific research I placed a call through to the number on the back of the flyer handed to me at Brixton Tube Station. The call was answered by a guy who'd just woken up (at 4 in the afternoon) and after some probing questions, followed by some fairly careful answers (well, you see by law I can't tell you the effects on humans as they are sold for research and identification purposes only) we had ordered a great big bag of Mexico's finest (delivered by a crazy kiwi on a bike). I can't believe we ate them all.
