Typhoon 22

Whereever I go, I somehow cannot escape natural disasters. If it isn’t “Earthquakes” in L.A., it’s “Snow Storm” in Boston, or “Hurricane” in Washington, DC. For now, it’s “Typhoons” in Japan. In fact, it’s typhoon season, YAY?! Typhoon is just hard pounding rain with gusty wind. I would tell you how fast the wind is but I don’t know what that is in Miles/Hour. Like all other countries besides the good ol’ US of A, they announce speed in Km/Hr. Since I have not bothered to figure out the conversion yet, I’ve adapted a new scale of my own. Slow, Fast, and VERY Fast.! So…Typhoon 22, wind = fast, has rampaged through Japan this weekend. It’s called 22 because it is the 22nd typhoon Japan has encountered this year. I probably experienced 2 to 3 typhoons since I first got to Japan 2 and a half month ago. Despite the typhoon warning, my ALT friends in neighboring towns and I still headed into Tokyo after work friday night in the rain when the typhoon was just approaching. So what do we usually do in Tokyo? Well there’s plenty things to do actually but for the most part, we go to pubs and clubs and we stay out in Tokyo all night until the early morning when the train starts again around 5AM. For many of you that know me well, does this seem like the typical Tony you know? I surprise myself sometimes but I’m having a blast. Going to Tokyo is fun but it hits the pockets deep. Everytime when I get back from Tokyo, it is often very depressing looking into my wallet. For example, I spent around $50 U.S. dollar just on the cover charge for a club I went to this past Friday night and it only came with one drink. OK, not all clubs are that expensive but on the avg. the cover is $30 to $35 for most clubs in Tokyo. I’ve never done the club scene in L.A. so you tell me if that’s expensive. In Tokyo, spending U.S. $100 in one night is very simply done, only a matter of a few hours. The price you pay for entertainment I guess. But did I mention everything in Japan is EXPENSIVE? Just ask my friend mogbert in Korea and ask him how much everything cost there!! Anyway, I’m staying in my apt. today, one to save money and two, because the ominous clouds don’t look too enticing to go out. I don’t mind the rain but when my shoes get wet and my socks are soggy, fun is over!! I’m just watching some movies, laying on my bed and listening to some music and just RELAXing… Ahhhh……..ZZZZ
