October 02, 2004Sydney: Palm Beach
I've never seen Home and Away so to me Palm Beach - which is where they film the outdoor scenes - was just another beach, but a pretty good one. It's part of the Northern Beaches and it took forever and a day on the bus to get there, but was worth it. There was a really long, fairly empty stretch of sand with some trees behind it, a swimming area and a rocky lookout. People were surfing and paragliding and enjoying the sun. There were also repellent little bubbles of bluebottle jellyfish washed up all along the tideline on the sand. I was dancing all over place trying to avoid them, but no one else seemed too bothered - maybe compared to all the other noxious creatures you can be bitten by in Australia, a bluebottle sting isn't so bad? |
