September 14, 2004Going going, gone!
Rough day, happy ending. I had so much to do I couldn't see straight. I am not taking my skis. I cut down on the climbing gear (down to harness and shoes ony). I am left wih a 30lb pack and a 13 lb daypack/carryon. When I finally left my apartment I was able to relax. The elation form being on my way was a delight. Then it almost came crashing down when the van driver told me that he had head that no planes were flying inor out of LAX. That scrogny old antelope valley gramps seemed to take some pleasure in telling this boy-faced traveller that he "ain't goin' nowhere". Just drive pappy. Here I am at LAX terminal 2, checked in, and my flight is on time. There is so much more to say but this email station is a real rip-off so I'll only add one more thing: I want to thank my friends and family who have been so supportive and helpful through this freefalling chaos of a departure. Cheers all. Posted by piegu on September 14, 2004 10:05 PM
