As I´m typing this, it´s my last night here in Argentina - I´m finally making use of the $100 visa fee and am going to Brazil tomorrow. After Mendoza I spent a week in Cordoba at language school doing some intensive classes and really trying to study, so I didn´t get to see that much of the town (really nice people at the school though - lots of Brazilians and a few Europeans and North Americans also).

Not that there´s that much to see - it´s a pretty nice, decently large (it´s Argentina´s second-biggest city) University town that´s a cool, and very cheap, place to live if you´re here for a while, but as a regular old traveling stopover it´s pretty nondescript. The most noteworthy thing I saw was probably this weird wanna-be 50s Diner. They´re not really used to tourists here either - I couldn´t find a magnet for my collection until the last minute, and even then I had to improvise with a medallion from one of the soccer teams.

After that I headed back to Buenos Aires for a few days. I managed to get ahold of the hottest ticket in town - the Argentina/Brazil World Cup Qualifier, which Argentina won 3 to 1.

Despite the fact that Buenos Aires (stupidly) has no public observation deck higher than six stories, you can still get some pretty good views if you poke around a bit.

I hit a couple more touristy places I'd wanted to see, and actually also plan of heading back to Buenos Aires for a few days before I leave to do some shopping and a bit more research for my paper. I also managed to get a couple of photos that perfectly sum up two of the major complaints about Buenos Aires: the driving and the pollution.
