April 10, 2005Atlanta airport 1
Well, considering I made it to Buenos Aires yesterday, I guess I really should be writing about South America now. But when youŽve got a four hour layover in the Atlanta airport, youŽll find interesting stuff. The most interesting for the Urban Planning nerd in me was an exhibit in Gate 34 of the International terminal by Gregor Turk, an Atlanta artist. Turk created a series of cermaic maps depicting several cities on approximately the same latitude as Atlanta - between 30 and 35 degrees North. See if you can guess which cities are the three below. 2 hints: First, they are on three different continents. Second, I believe (although IŽm not certain) that they are the three most populous cities in the world between 30 and 35 degrees North. First person to get all three IŽll bring back something cool for. Comments
1. Cairo Something cool for Ruthy it is. Seoul is at 37 degrees North. Posted by: Moses on April 11, 2005 03:44 PMNo fair!! David and I said it first! We did it the day it was posted!! Posted by: Judy on April 11, 2005 07:36 PMAh, you are right, Moses. I was relying on a not-very-detailed map. Showed only every 10 degrees of latitude. Judy and David mixed up Seoul and Cairo.
