My husband came across your blog on bootsnall. It is interesting reading about your trip. We are also traveling for a year with our 2 sons (ages 2 and 4). We are originally from Seattle and have been on the road for about 5 months now. We are traveling by car through Mexico and Central America. It is really nice to learn about other people traveling with their kids. There are not too many people traveling with kids on big adventures like our families are. Hats off to you. Our experience so far is that it is a wonderful experience for the entire family and a great way to spend a lot of quality time. Hats off to you.
