March 29, 2005The Seperation of Wife and Mate
And so, after only a little more than two months of marriage, Lisa and I have seperated. Okay, Okay, it is not that kind of seperation. Lisa is staying in Melbourne while I go off to explore this vast and exciting country. So if Lisa puts any entries on here don't bother reading them - I am your man at the center of the action! After spending a little over a week in Melbourne relaxing with Anna and Lisa and doing some serious van-hunting I finally spotted my target and clinched the deal. I suppose it is kind of a risk to actually buy the van instead of renting it, but I'm crossing my fingers that when I sell it I can recoup enough of the cost to make it the better option. Anyway, it is a good van: A 1992 Mitsubishi L300 fully outfitted with a bed, coolers, cooking gear, camping equipment etc. I already wish I could take it home with me (so what if the steering wheel is on the wrong side!) So my basic plan is to head up the famous east coast for a bit and I will be reporting all the action here (when I feel like it, and I have access to a computer). Keeping with the seperation theme I also parted with something else in Melbourne: My beard. I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore, plus I hear they grow back. -Jim Comments
