March 19, 2005Melbourne
Our trip to Australia on March 15th was very uneventful. We have been looking forward to arriving in Melbourne for some time because we have a friend, who happens to be an Australian citizen, who is living here right now. Anna Mullany did JVC with Jim and lived in Ocean Beach for 2 of the years that we were there. She had been living in Cambodia and working at the end of last year, and as it would happen we all ended up in OZ together. Anna welcomed us with open arms and a Cambodian style feast. We were so happy to see her!! We all went out to celebrate St. Patrick’s day, Melbourne style! I am going to be working in Melbourne for about a month. I have been lucky enough to get a position working with a Dr. of Oriental Medicine here in the city. He has written many of our textbooks and specializes in OBGYN and fertility problems, both of which I am very interested in treating. His practice is primarily herbaly based. I have missed the medicine so much, I'm looking forward to being in one place for a month, and spending time with a friend. Jim has yet to determine his plan of action. Presently he's looking at buying a car and heading north to surf, travel, or work. There is an incredible backpacker car market here, which makes buying a car the most affordable option for traveling around Australia. The official wedding pictures are up on the photo site!! Thank you for doing that!!! http://jimlisa.smugmug.com
